Forbes Money Summit 2025
Make It. Spend It. Invest It.

The Forbes family has been running the eponymous magazine for three generations. In over 100 years, Forbes has become one of the most iconic media brands in the world. This success comes, because Forbes can cover all aspects of money: making, investing, and spending it. All three areas are equally relevant to the idea of Forbes – as can be seen from the very different personalities of the three generations that have run Forbes magazine. Let’s take a look.

B.C. Forbes – Making Money
All he ever wanted was to become his own boss. But before he could do that, B.C. Forbes had to become one of his generation’s most prolific business journalists. In 1917, he finally started Forbes magazine, chronicling the lives of business minds and capturing the essence of business. Unknowingly, he managed to do just that in the very first magazine issue, writing: “Business was originated to produce happiness, not pile up millions.”

Malcolm Forbes – Spending Money
After joining his father’s company in 1957 and taking over in , Forbes went on to continuously grow the magazine. When not working, Malcolm Forbes lived an extravagant lifestyle: He collected art, Harley-Davidson motorbikes and owned a dozen Fabergé eggs. He also bought a private jet, Highlander yachts and a chateau in France. His 70th birthday, which he celebrated in Morocco, cost an estimated $2.5 million. What’s the use of money if you’re not spending it?

Steve Forbes – Investing Money
The third Forbes generation didn’t have to make money anymore, and he never shared his father’s taste for spending it. Rather, he has been heavily influenced by Benjamin Graham’s “The Intelligent Investor” and is a close friend of the most famous investor of our time, Warren Buffett. Steve Forbes once hosted a weekly podcast called “Intelligent Investing” and ensured that Forbes is a magazine that can tell you how to multiply what you’ve already made.

At the Forbes Money Summit 2025, we will follow in the footsteps of three Forbes generations and bring together the brightest entrepreneurs and investors from Switzerland and beyond to discuss how to make money (the right way), how to invest it (intelligently) — and how to spend it (wisely – or not). It will be an event full of insights into how to make the best use of your money. Don’t miss it!
